Burger King South Africa

On the 9th May 2013 Burger King opened its doors in Cape Town, Africa. They handed out 1000 Whopper Burgers to the first 1000 customers and OMW it was extremely full.

I thought I would wait till the next day to get mine Whopper Burger only to discover there is a line of which I waited in for 2 hours to finally get a taste of a Whopper Burger.

It certainly was worth the wait. 🙂

Sk8ing | Infecting The City Cape Town

These are a group of skaters that will be taking part in the Public Arts Festival taking place from the 11th- 16th March 2013, Infecting The City Cape Town City Centre.

There are loads of events taking place between the abovementioned dates. There are those that are structured or like these guys skating that would just pop up. I’ve seen the program and its going to be a full on one.

You can catch Infecting The City on Facebook or Twitter.

Here are they promoting the festival and giving us a pre-feel of what will be taking place during the festival.

Steven Salt River Seagull

Koeberg Station

On my way into town this morning with the train, just outside Salt River station I snapped a photo of the one side of many sides of Table Mountain.

Seagull

When ever I see this bird I always reckon, “hey Steven!” LMAO

Got to the opportunity to take a picture of the seagull up close as he stood right next to where I was sitting during lunch time today. This bird is such a poser.

In One Day

Cloudy Lions Head
As my day started yesterday I witness a cloudy start to the day by the looks as of Lion’s Head as I enter in by train at the station.

On my way toward the station back home I spotted this man feeding the pigeons. He looked like he came out a children’s story book with hat and all. I think it’s really cute.

And finally the last photo I took was of the sunset at home. With so many clouds in the sky and a glimmer of light. It should remind us no matter how but the storm there is always light at the end of it all.

Green Point Park & Mouille Point

I took the time out yesterday after work as I finished off early,I decided to walk with my brother to Green Point Park. Him and I did the whole Fan Walk. which is 2.6km and we did the walk back. We truly enjoyed ourselves even though we were so tired by the time we got home. I certainly would recommend the Green Point Park to anyone who just wants to relax or take their kids to play on the jungle gym or swings and if you also want to keep fit there is an open air gym. After we were in the Park we walked to Mouille Point to see the light house and my brother played further at the Mouille Point Park. Surely a good day. 🙂

Kaapse Klopse

It’s been 2nd New Year’s Day in Cape Town and that means only one thing for Capetonians! It’s the Cape Minstrels Carnival or known to the people of Cape Town as the Kaapse Klopse. This is a yearly event in Cape Town that dates back to slavery in the Cape were slaves were free for a day. Songs like ‘the Alabama’ are sung. Streets on the day in the CBD are closed as they make way for the jollification of the Minstrel Bands displaying the beautiful colourful clothes that they have and the beautiful sounds as they play their instruments. It is truly a celebration. I didn’t stay long at the event I by chance happen to be in the CBD and caught a glimpse of one of the Band’s members or Troops as they are called in St Georges giving a rendition of what they have to offer.

Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens

What a lovely time spent at Kirstenbosch Friday 14 December 2012.

Nice way to end off a year of work in such a relaxing way. Taking in what nature has to offer.

Be sure to make a turn here and know you need a lot of time going through the gardens. I haven’t seen all of it but sure to make my way back to see the rest of it.

Don’t forget a blanket and your picnic basket. This is such a wonderful place to have a picnic.

Cape Town Festive Lights Switch On: 2012

I know I might be way late with these images but I thought I’d still put them up. It was the switching on of the festive lights here in Cape Town the 2nd December. This was done by the Mayor of Cape Town Patricia De Lille.

The concert took place on the Grand Parade, there was no place left there so we found ourselves on the corner of Adderley and Darling Streets watching it on the big screen.

I certainly enjoyed myself to the full with my friends. Always great when your friends are with.
